He found it strange that trees should shiver away their leaves at the approach of winter’s icy chill.

Picnic in the Park

Picnic in the Park

As lilacs shower o’er the grass,
I lie with her beneath the tree.
We watch the light of summer pass,
As lilacs shower o’er the grass.
And in her hazel eyes like glass,
I’ll lose myself eternally;
As lilacs shower o’er the grass,
I lie with her beneath the tree.

A Miracle of Nature

A Miracle of Nature
By Brandon Palzkill

A simple stream, alive with dreams
Of growing big and strong
Will gradually, a river, be
With booming, roaring song.

A tiny seed, beneath the weeds
May fight its leafy shrouds
‘til it does rise, up to the skies
A tree, amongst the clouds.

A sunny day might fade away
Behind the coming rain,
But storms dissolve above us all
And light returns again.

But sun and seed and stream will lead
To nature’s rainbow hues
Come summertime, the days will shine
In yellows, greens, and blues.
