            Every time she watched the golden morning sun climb the horizon, she was crazy enough to believe that anything was possible. Whenever she had watched that weary sun set, however, she couldn’t help but feel she had been wrong.

A New Day Dawns

Golden solar rays trickle down;
A shower of resplendent hope
To tantalize my sleepy mind.
They coax me from my shell,
Inviting me out to play.

Inky black fading to navy blue

Navy blue pulls rippling gray behind

Soon the gray disappears

Leaving a pearlescent tangerine shine

That comes with the rising sun…
