            Every time she watched the golden morning sun climb the horizon, she was crazy enough to believe that anything was possible. Whenever she had watched that weary sun set, however, she couldn’t help but feel she had been wrong.

Out amongst my outcast brethren,

Dregs of society; underground awesomites

Men, women; large, small; awkward, beautiful…

Scurrying out from the shadowy corners

For the moment of our awaited gathering.

Everyone dons their battle armor,

Proudly raises their flags, high,

Displays their banners for the world to see,

And we are all united; several become one

As we make a collective sojourn

Into breathtaking realms of endless

Possibility...

The mighty, ready for an adventure.

Anticipation;

waiting for one moment

to change your whole life.

Waiting for as long

as it takes;

waiting for your train

to finally come in.

The build up; the hype;

anxiety in pondering

the veritable possibilities

of that important moment.

When the time comes,

will it be all you wanted?

Can it hope to meet

your heightened expectations,

might it be everything

you feel you deserve,

or will disappointment

abound?

In my imagination,

no feat is insurmountable;

merely a challenge to be met with

youthful determination.

In my imagination,

my lofty machinations take flight,

ascending to the moon, then

going onward ‘til they reach the stars.

In my imagination,

new worlds are just beyond our door,

all eager to be explored;

traversed with curious exuberance.

In my imagination,

ordinary days bring extraordinary promise;

never-ending possibilities.
