Icarus
I
Beheld
A
goddess;
An
impassioned
Starlit
dreamer with
Wonder
in her smile
And
doe-eyes shining sadly
As
she stood upon trembling legs,
Heaving
the world upon her shoulders.
I
longed to help carry her weight
But
she was the burning sun,
And
drawing swiftly near,
I
courted my doom
On
failed wings, with
Nowhere
to
Go
but
Down.
