Titanic swirls of
withering light coalesced around a perilously gyrating blot, struggling against
the suffocating grip of unbeing. The light glittered feebly as it faded into
the darkness and the universe around it had continued its onward march, completely oblivious.
This page is dedicated to the trials, tribulations, thoughts, musings, and potentially bad decisions of an aspiring writer... but not really. There will be a lot of writing, though.

Two Sentence Tuesday #50
As aspirations go, some people strive to plant their flags upon the
mountaintops while others won’t rest until they’ve reached out and touched the
stars. For Harry, he was winning at life if he could afford a victory dance on
the knoll across the street.

Two Sentence Tuesday #3
Dev and Anna lounged passionately
on the muggy apartment rooftop beneath the moon, the stars, and the sparkling
city skyline.
"Perfect," Dev
thought as he slipped the humble box from his pocket.

The View from the Summit
The
View from the Summit
It’s been a grueling sojourn to the mountaintop;
Can you remember when your ascent began?
You ached and bled to leave that daunting base
In your wake and will the summit into reality,
And here you now are… planting your victory flag.
Embrace the sweeping landscape of your success
But stop for only a moment, for aurulent stars
Are within your grasp and a new adventure awaits.

First Date
First
Date
By Brandon Palzkill
Shimmering starlight twinkles
In your bright sapphire eyes
As we jet down the boulevard
In a Cadillac convertible
Top down, winds blowin’ through our
hair,
Got your feet up on the dash,
Head tipped back,
Carefree, you beam at me
And I fall in love.
I take you to the House of Blues
Buzzing with electric neon
Red and violet and pink,
Bathing us warmly; slowly
Swaying, grinding
To the gravelly rasp of Tom Waits
Singing through the juke box.
Hold you close; hold you tight,
And you hold your breath,
While you fall in love.
Gray, overflowing clouds roll in,
Thick, glassy raindrops
Pound the asphalt, sizzling; crashing;
Chasing us beneath a park gazebo,
We wait, sitting out the storm;
Your rain-washed flesh sparkles;
I touch you… you shiver.
I taste sweet precipitation
On your lips
As we fall in love.

Everything is Real
Everything is Real
By Brandon Palzkill
Dancing across the starry prism,
reality dissipates into a viridian fantasia,
engulfed in swirling cryogenic cyclones
and cast out to a milky nebulous sea.
Meandering auras ripple across the waves,
irradiating my glowing owl eyes;
nearly melt until I realize it’s only
gilded sunlight through my bedroom windows.
