Vincent
Sinking
down to the depths of the dark,
Unending
well of screaming madness,
You
longed for freedom;
Yearned
to bask in the magical nighttime
That
forever hung just beyond the reach
Of
your straining fingertips.
You
ached for the heat
Of
the burning, golden starlight
As
their transcendental fires shone brightly
Across
the infinite ripplingly velvet
Blanket
of midnight blue,
But
its warmth never reached you
In
the growing cold blackness of your
Solitary
hell.
You
strived; you climbed,
But
never touched the luminous sky,
Though
with nothing to hold onto,
Down,
you inevitably and finally slipped,
Lost
to the unrelinquishing abyss
And
in your absence,
The
wondrous night will eternally burn…
Another
star brighter.
